My late kinsman, Arthur Maxim Coppage (b. 1915) was the co-author of two hardcover Coppedge-Coppage genealogies, and in his 1975 and later works stated that the wife of Christopher Dameron was Elizabeth Neale, not Elizabeth Garlington. There was no documented proof of the Garlington marriage, as I understand it -- it was posisted, and then persisted. I am looking for documentation either way, and recently found this in a current (200) online Dameron reunion archive from the 1994 reunion: "George T. Brown Jr. amazed reunion participants with his charts of the ancestry of Elizabeth Coppage, daughter of John Coppage Jr. and Elizabeth Dameron. His chart goes back 32 generations on a some lines and includes some royal ancestors for Sarah Ball and Elizabeth Neale whom he believes was the wife of Bartholomew Dameron."
