LUCINDA GARLAND ALLEN

There is a Lucinda, age 3, on the 1850 census pages 145 and 146. She was born to Sally Bowlin. Sally and three children are shown on this census with Soloman Garland. Sally married Soloman Garland on June 7, 1853 in Laurel County, KY. William took the name of William Bowlin Garland, and I believe his sisters did also. Making his sister Lucinda Garland. It is rumored these three children were half Indian. Indeed Sally's sister had a son on the census named "Spotted Jaw". I have wondered if this would mean he had scars, zits, or the beautiful deep dimples most all of our family has been blissed with.Could this be of service? I don't have my files with me, but I seem to recall that Sally and her sister were very much connected to an Allen family. Look in the court records in Clay county for a connection.
