Looking for information on Mary Jane Garland who married Joseph M. Adams around 1870 in the Eufalla/Phoenix City Alabama area.
Mary Jane and Joseph are shown as the parents of Emily Berthenia Adams Young who was born in AL on 24 Nov 1873 and died in 1958 in Texas.
Joseph is shown in the 1870 Midway, Bullock Co, AL census with no wife and only the children of his first marriage. He is shown in the 1880 Floyd Co, GA census with his 3rd wife Sarah and her children along with Emily B. and her brother Edward L. Adams.
So Joseph must have married Mary Jane Garland at some point after the 1870 census was taken. She must have died or they divorced prior about 1877 to have time to marry and have children age 2 by the 1880 census by 3rd wife Sarah.
