If anyone knows any thing on Robert Garland of the late 1600's that farmed at Montrose, Scotland...or any Garland's during that period of time in the area, it would be much appreciated.

We know Robert had a older son Robert. It is unknown when Robert Garland Jr. was born or when he died.

We just know his brother John Garland 1713-1801 inherited from his father. John Garland farmed Craighill of Criggie, St. Cyrus, 1755-1780 and from 1780 Cairnton, Mill of Pitrennie and Mains of Fordoun. John died and was buried in grounds of private Chapel, sited in Chapel Park, Ardlethen, Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, now demolished.

Where did the Garland's come from that first went to Scotland? Anyone study that?
