St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, Sept. 30, 1926 -- Local Happenings -- Mrs. Robert Garfield and daughter Miss Elva of Geneva and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Mehrent of Wessington, S.D, the latter formerly Miss Ione Garfield, were in St. Charles a few days ago. Mrs. Garfield still owns two of the old Garfield farms which have not been transferred since they were granted from the government in the thirties. The Garfield family is one of the best known pioneer names in the vicinity, and they still keep an acquaintance with many here. Miss Elva is a graduate of Columbia University and she and her mother will return to New York shortly. They have spent their summer in Geneva.+++Posted as a courtesy, not related.+++
