I do not know who Daniel's parents were, but have a possible correction on the name of the second wife. I have an original letter written from Monterey (which was still New Marlborough at the time.) The date of the letter is October 13, 1841 and one sentence in the letter reads "Col. Daniel A. Garfield is married this evening to Lucy Wheeler". The letter was written by Mary Bullard to her sister Emily and Abner P. Garfield. Best of luck on finding the parents.
