I am Canadian. I have been able to go back eight generations on my mother's side, but I can't find any information on my paternal great-grandparents. I only know the name of my paternal grandfather, Roch Ralph Gareau, who was born on 26 September 1886 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan and died in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) in 1929. I have found his WWI draft card online, and I know that he was living in Plattsburg, New York in 1920 (census). I never knew him as he died when my father was only 14. Roch went by the name of Ralph Gareau. He married Lilly Fleury, and their children are/were Charles, Frances, Ralph, Rita, Jacques, Raymond and Gloria. He seems to have lived in Canada, got married and moved back to the US, then moved back to Canada where he died at 43 from complications following a car accident.
If anybody can help, I would be very grateful.
