Hi Joanne,
I know you posted this 10 yrs. ago,but I'd like to ask if there is any information on the GARDNER Farm (or farmhouses) which existed in Woburn around 1700.I'd like to know where the "house" was located.
The farm was located in the part of the town which became Winchester, MA, in the late 1800's.
In the 1720's, my ancestor, Thomas HUTCHINSON, bought one part of the large GARDNER Farm. That owner was Rev. GARDNER who wanted to move to Stow, MA.
Maybe in the early 1800's 3 farmhouses were built on what was then known as the very large HUTCHINSON Farm - on Ridge Street in what is now Winchester, MA.I lived in one of those farmhouses as a child;my great-grandmother had inherited it during the 1930's.
I'd like to find out if the original GARDNER House stood for a long time - and was taken over by the HUTCHINSON family.
