Listed in my family Bible, there was a John Gardner born to Robert Gardner and his second wife, Margaret Sinclair on June 18, 1793.

Robert Gardner's son, Robert and his wife Margaret also had a son named John on April 30, 1822.

To the best of my knowledge, both of these births were in Scotland. Robert's son, Hugh was my G G Grandfather. He moved to New York sometime between 1830 and 1850,and at that point I lose track of the Scottish line. The Bible has names and dates listed, but not locations. I am currently exploring al lead that may pinpoint the family's location in Scotland in Lanark County, possibly Wishaw township. Hope that helps.
