I am a desc. of Soloman Gardner m.Anna Coffin.KindredKonnections has good resources, but there is a book "Thomas Gardner, Planter of Cape Anne" you might like.
Also check on Ancestry.com or Rootsweb.com.There is quite a bit of history to be found in their extended databases. They have some rather obscure references such as Essex Co. Probate and so forth. The Gardner's left Cape Anne for Salem prior to removing to Nantucket as half-share men. Also, The Great Migration is an excellent source for the Gardner's, although I find I am unable to access those particular pages online anymore.I can get others, but none of the
Gardner pages. Also, check Katie Bond's webpages are they are quite thorough.
Starbuck's History of Nantucket and The Coffin Family are both good, as is anything by a Macy or Worth.
And don't forget the Nantucket Historical Society as it is excellent.
Good luck,
Patricia
