In his book "Mumford Memoirs" Š1900 James Mumford says that Jireh Mumford I {born 1717] married "Mary Gardiner, [1739] doubtless a great-granddaughter of the George Gardiner who came to Newport [Rhode Island] from England about 1636" "Doubtless" is not a very reliable genealogical reference. Does anyone in this forum have any information about this Mary Gardiner?
