Hello. I'm looking for information on my family in Sydney, NS. My grandfather is named James Gardiner, my grandmother was named Audrey Robertson. James Gardiner's parents were John Gardiner and Hilda MacDonald. The only information I have are the obituaries for two of my grandfather's siblings.
MURRAY, MARY ELIZABETH (NEE GARDINER) April 18, 1982 in Ottawa, Ontario. Born in Birch Grove, Cape Breton Island on May 4, 1921. Obituary would have being printed in the Cape Breton Post and also the Halifax Herald on or about April 20 or 21, 1982.

Gardiner, Henry (Sonny), 88, passed away Friday May 21, 2004 in the Cape
Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Birch Grove, Dec.31,1915, he was the son
of the late John and Hilda (MacDonald) Gardiner. He was predeceased by his
beloved wife Doris Mercer; brother George (Babe); and sisters Mary Murray
and Margaret Wilson. He was employed at Sydney Steel for 43 years as a
boilermaker. He spent many happy days fishing in Loch Lomond with his dear
friend, the late Garnet Clarke. He is survived by sons, Tyrone, (Flora),
Mira; Jack (Betty), Sydney; grandchildren Jamie and Adelaide, Australia;
Michelle, Sydney; Paulette (McPherson) Edmonton; Jill, Sydney; great
grandchildren, James, Cody, Patricia, Kelsey, Riley, and Justin; siblings,
Joan Bowes, South Bar; and James 'Tut' Gardiner, Sydney. He will be missed
by his special niece Dale MacLean, Sydney. Visitation will be held at
Sydney Memorial Chapel, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be
held Monday at 11 am. at St. George's Anglican Church with Capt. Sandy
MacDonald officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
