Billy, thanks for the reply! Here is what I know: Alice Gardenhire m. Reeves Leonard of Fayette, Mo. on 20 Oct.1868. His obit states she was the dau. of J.B.Gardenhire of Jefferson City, Mo.
What has me confused is that I found on that a Alice Catherine Gardenhire m. this Goodbar fellow on 24 Jan., 1861 in Overton, Tenn. and that Alice Garenhire m. Reeves Leonard on the 1868 date in White Co. Tenn. Do you think that these are two different girls?
Reeves and Alice had a child named Gardenhire (boy or girl?) listed as 1 yo in the 1870 Howard Co. Mo census, but is not listed in the 1880 census. Their dau. Jeanette is listed as 8 yo in the 1880 census. Alice and Jeanette are listed living with Reeves' mother Jeanette Leonard in Fayette in 1880.
The 1900 census for Howard Co shows Alice and Jeanette living with Wm. Leonard, Reeves' brother in Fayette.
Anything that would clarify all this would be greatly appreciated, esp. the relationship (if any) between Alice and William and the later years of Alice and dau. Jeanette.
Thanks for any help! John Wanamaker.
