John -or- Samuel Gardener
(dau. Winnefred Gardneer; son: Nathan Gardener)

Winnefred m. Vincent/Vinson Tanner

Backbground. I show a Vincent/Vinson Tanner c1780 born possibly in MD, marrying an unknown Tanner in NC, living primarily in GA (Wayne Co.). Children: John W. Tanner (b. abt1813), Wiley Tanner (b.abt1816), two unidentified daughters (b. abt 1820-25). At some point, Vincent/Vinson's wife and mother of his children died and he remarried: a Winneford "Winnie" Gardiner/Gardener. On the 1860 Orange Co., census report, it shows the Gardner and Tanner families living next door to each other or listed one right after the other on the report. John's family moved to Columbia Co. , GA around 1840, Orange Co., FL around 1850.

I would like to hear from any Gardiner/Garnder relatives who know something about Vincent/Vinson Tanner and Winnifred Gardiner/Gardner's marriage and history. I would like to get Vincent/Vinson's parents' names too.

Sincerely, Lisa Looney
