Trying to establish a connection to James A. Gardner b Bedminster abt 1809, was a captain of militia, and govenor of the Bristol Gaol on Coronation Street.Wifes name Elizabeth b abt 1814.
Family stories say that one ancestor(James Gardner?) was the govenor of the gaol when the last man was hung, Any person with any info on this James i would appreciate speaking to, am trying to connect (for certain) into my tree.
