JAMES E. GARDENER (GARDNER) - MEXICAN WAR
Posted by: Karen Manasco (ID *****6220) Date: June 24, 2007 at 20:02:51

Does anyone have any information on a James Gardener who was in the Mexican War? He is buried in a small cemetery near me where some of my relatives are buried. We put flowers on his grave every year at decoration. There is one James Gardener listed on the 1880 US census born in 1812 married to a Margaret with children Nancy C., Mary F., looks like Mojses or Moses?, and Richard. Both of his parents are listed as being born in North Carolina. He was in Fayette county, AL at the time. Also, in my great-great grandfathers church book there is one listed as James E. Gardner, May 1892. My grandparents knew a "Buddy" Gardner and he has a grandson James Gardner who is a Church of God preacher. Are these all the same family? If anyone has any information on him, please help me out. Thank you in advance.
