I'm looking for information on two sisters, Mary Alice and Theresa L. Gardner (or Gardener/Gardiner). Their father was born in Ohio, and their mother was born in Iowa.
Mary Alice was born around 1886 in Nebraska and married Elza Tatman (b.1881 Ohio). They lived in Spokane, Washington, where they had two sons, Paul E. (b.1909) and Max Eugene (b.1915).
Theresa L. Gardner/Gardiner was born in Ohio in 1897. She moved to Spokane with her sister, Mary Alice Tatman, and her family. She married Roy Harold Wagner (b.1894 Minnesota, parents from Germany), and they had 4 children, Jack Ralph Wagner (b.1916), Robert Alvin Wagner (b.1917), Betty M. Wagner (b.1921) and Donald E. Wagner (b.1923).
I have reason to believe that the sisters were in some way related to the Baldwin/Lynch families of IN/IL/KS/WA.
My grandmother attended school with Betty Wagner at Field Elementary School, in Spokane, WA. Once, when my grandmother was telling the class about a visit she'd spent with her Uncle Hiram (Hiram Elias Baldwin), Aunt Lizzy (Sarah Elizabeth (Lynch) Baldwin), and cousins Fred, Bert, and Kate Baldwin, Betty Wagner claimed that she, too, had an Uncle Hiram, Aunt Lizzy, and cousins Fred, Bert, and Kate. At the time, my grandmother did not believe her, but she later saw Betty at her Aunt Lizzy's funeral, and realized that they must have been cousins and never knew it.
We are now trying to locate Betty Wagner, if she is still living. We are also trying to figure out how Betty was related to my grandmother's family. We figure it must have been through her mother, Theresa (Gardner) Wagner, because Betty's grandparents on her father, Roy's, side came from Germany.
