I am interested in the surnames WATSON,CREBER, GARDINER
My great grandfather was JOHN THOMAS GARDINER CREBER WATSON born about 1833 Plymouth, Devon, UK. His occupation was a seaman. His father was JOHN WATSON occupation shipwright cook who married ELIZABETH GARDINER/GARDNER. I have found CREBER is a Devon surname. I would have assumed that a CREBER married a WATSON or a CREBER married a GARDINER. We have searched numerous records for combinations of the surnames in Devon with out success. Researchers in Devon say GARDINER and WATSON are not common surnames in that area. I am now starting to search elsewhere in England for history of this family.
Can you tell me whether you have any of these names please. some other christian names mentioned with JTGCW children are Samuel John, Richard, Elizabeth Margaret, James Thomas, Jeanette, Edward John, Robert Garndner Thopilus WATSON.
I look forward to hearing from you. Can you tell me where your surname came from please?

Regards
Mary Linning
