Can you believe it!!!..after 27 years of searching I have found a direct male Gardner line from 2 living generations to Frederick Monroe Gardner b. 1908 CA d. 1969 in CA son of James Monroe Gardner b.1861 Keytesville, Chariton Co., MO..d.1919 CA, son of Hutchins Gardner b. 1928 Prob. in Keytesville Chariton Co., MO d, ca 1863 in Keytesville, son of Samuel I/J Gardner b. 1787 VA d. 1853 Keytesville, Chariton Co. MO.
I decend from Hutchins Gardners daughter, Mary Ann Gardner Kellogg, sister to James Monroe Gardner, therefore I have been searching for the children of James Monroe Gardner and finally found the clue I needed in some of my deceased mothers things. Always go back over what info you have available. THis clue was in the form of a letter written in 1983. Thank goodness she still lived in the same town.
Now that we are reunited one of the boys is giving his DNA to help our research. Can you believe it, never give up.
If you are interested in joining the DNA group, you just need a direct male line, a swab of the inner cheek, and we can see if there is a match with other Gardner researchers.
If you are interested just go to:
www.familytreedna.com
The more the merrier!!!
Now I am after the decendants of Hutchins' brothers an older James Monroe Gardner and Samuel B. (Burch) Gardner..
Just had to share my find.
Thanks for listening
Glenda
