Prudencio GARCIA, Santa Fe, 1850
I have been researching the genealogy of my godfather who left Santa Fe when he was 16 to join the Army and now lives in Alabama. Uncle Ray’s mother was a GARCIA.
Her grandparents were Prudencio & Maria Albina GARCIA, both born in Santa Fe. I recently got death certificates of two great-aunts of my godfather’s, which verified that these were the correct parents. Prudencio and Maria Albina married in 1853 according to the census. According to the death certificates, her maiden name was CAS(S)ADOS. They appear in the census in Santa Fe up to 1900. Maria Albina must have died between 1900 & 1910 because Prudencio appears as a widower in the 1910 census. I believe that he died before the 1920 census was taken.
The first record that I have for him is the 1850 census, in which he seems to be in a household with his probable brothers: Anastasio, Ramon, Erinco [Erineo?], & Carpio. Prudencio, Anastasio, & Ramon were carpenters.

Does anyone have information on Prudencio’s ancestors or additional information on his siblings?
Thanks.
