Hello All:
I have more information regarding Sofia Maria Garcia Peralta.
She was daughter of Juan Peralta and Faustina Garcia.
She was born about 19-December,1895 or 1896 in Peralta-Valencia County,New Mexico.She died about 21-September,1989 at age of ninety-two.
Sofia Maria Garcia Peralta attended a convent school in Bernalillo,New Mexico.
Juan Peralta was son of Bartolo Peralta and Maria Otero.
Sofia Maria Garcia Peralta may have been of Native American extraction.
Family legend has it that the family could see the Apaches riding near their ranch,but were never bothered because they were Apache themselves.Another family legend has it that Sofia Maria Garcia Peralta was an aunt of Geronimo.
