Mr A. Gant:
Greetings. I have your Gant ancestry in a book published several years ago written by me and 2 distant Gantt cousins
now out of print but with copies donated to libraries throughout the U. S.
This book indicates that Lee Gant died in Plano, TX 11 April, 1920 and born in TN in 1867. His father was Henry A. Gant born 1838 in Orange Co., NC and moved to Sumner Co., TN where John Lee was born in 1867 along with seven brothers and sisters.
Henry6 Gant's father was Jacob R.5, Jonathan Kerr, Jr.4, William3, John, Jr.2 (my ancestor also), John, Sr.1 (who took the surname of Gant when he received a patent of land in NC in 1739 in that surname) , John GentA born ca 1687 probably in Charles City Co., VA. There is some basis to believe John Gent/Jent (sometimes spelled Ghent) was the son of Thomas Gent probably born in Northamptonshire, England.
Pleae contact me if you desire any additional nformation but hope I haven't over powered you at this point!
