They are one and the same... the tombstone readings that state 1818 are wrong (mine included) due to the age of the stone the fours appear to be one's at first glance. Other research including County records and death notices has brought this to light. I've been trying to chase down the incorrect dates (1818)on the internet... but it seems to have spread like wildfire. Israel (listed as Israel Gaunt, Jr.) and Richard Gaunt purchased land together in the late 18th century and were the first of the name to settle in the Metedeconk/Osbornville area. They were probably brothers and most likely the son of Israel Gaunt of Howell Twp who died in the 1820's.
