Gannon/Guinan Family (Halifax, Nova Scotia)
I've been unsuccessful in trying to determine James Francis Gannon's death date. I'm also trying to find additional information on James, his parents and siblings.
The below information was found on the 1881 Census of Canada and seems like it could be James F. Gannon's family as the area of the city and the age listed for James seems right. The surname is different but it's the only one in the Census that is even remotely similar. Seeing that the Census is 1881 and James immigrated to Canada in 1870 (according to the 1901 Census) then he should've been listed in the 1881 Census.
Here's what we found.Just wondering what others think of this and if it's possible the family name was Guinan and switched to Gannon. Also I'd like some feedback as to speculation that this is the same family.I'm having a hard time trying to reconcile a 1860 birthdate for James in Ireland with the below info since it lists Halifax, NS as the birthplace:
Census Place: Ward No. 6, Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

My grandfather tells the story that two brothers immigrated from Ireland, one was James Francis and the other he's not sure of.Apparently the other brother was a chimney sweep in the north end of Halifax but no other information on him is known.
Thanks for anyone who can throw their two cents in on this one.I'm kinda stuck.
