I have been told that my great great grandfather, Christopher Martin Gannon (b.1820) came from Cork. I know he arrived in the US in the early 1850's, first living in Rochester, NY. He moved to Davenport, Iowa prior to 1860. He was married to Ellen Murray (b. 1829 in Manchester, England). They had eight (8) children. Unfortunately, I have not been able to trace him back to Cork; all I have is a memory of being told that our Gannons were from Cork.
