William, While doing some research on the names on the Lymington War Memorial I spoke to an ancestor of Walter Gannaway. It is Walter on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site and on the memorial. He was 42 when he died.He also saw service in the South African War and won medals for his service there. He was also commended for bravery in the 1914/1918 war. This information was given to me by his ancestor who lives in Lymington.
