Nancy,
I am looking for information on Henry Gann born abt 1800 in Jefferson Tn. he married Amy Adams August 3, 1821. Henry died March 12 ???? in Madisonville Tn and is buried there in Big Creek Cemetary. I know they had a least one child a son William Gann born December 12 1829 and died July 20, 1897, he was married to Polly Ann Learnard She was born May 31, 1832 and died April 25, 1911
9 children one of whom is my ancester James Elsberry Gann born February 12, 1858 and died May 7, 1937 on Pulaski County Missouri. James married Arrena Lousia Crossland she was born May 26, 1871, they had 8 children, Cora Elizabeth Gan(my Grandmother) she was born May 25, 1900 in Pulaski County Missouri and is still living today. She married James Sterling Williams.
Do you have any information on this Gann family and does anyone know when they dropped the extra n. I heard a story about brothers getting into an dispute and one changing the spelling, true ?
