Would love to exchange information with you on the Gann Family. Here is some I have on Adam & Robert Gann that I got from the library in Greenwood. Robert Gann, born 1829, and Rachel M. (Been) Gann lived in Hamilton County Tennessee in 1850. They were both born there and married there in 1845. Their two daughters, Lousia Jane, born 1849 and Mary Isabelle (my gggrandmother), born 1852, were born there in Hamilton County Tennessee. On their way to eventually settle in Sebastian County Arkansas, they had two boys born in Missouri: Thomas O. Gann, born 1855, and George W. Gann, born in 1857. By 1858 they had reached Washington County Arkansas, where Martha Jane was born. Two other daughters were born in Arkansas, Sarah Frances, 1860, and Emeline Tennessee, born 1862. Robert Gann was killed (1863) while home on leave from the war by bushwhackers. He was buried in Jones Cemetery, during the night, as the bushwhackers were reported to be still in the area. Robert Gann was seen by Confederate Bushwhackers as he was cutting fence post to mend a fence. He was shot but the wound did not kill him and he tried to make it to his home and was chased down and finished off with a hunting knife. Roberts brother, Adam and one of Adam's sons was also hung by Confederate Bushwhackers. Family members cut them down and the son was dead but Adam lived for a few years afterwards before subcombing to injuries received during the hanging.
