David, my Gann's were in Cleburne County at the same time your William and Sarah F. Gann were there. I have searched my records and couldn't find anything else on them. Do you know where they were in 1870? I found a William D. Gann in Cobb County, GA. married to a Martha E. living next door to William and Harriet's son J.C.L. (Leonard) Gann. This William D. is showing children Sarah F., Andrew J.W., and Ida Gann. Ifound them on the 1870 Cobb County, GA federal census living in Lemon's District. I believe this to be William and Harriet's son William D. T. Gann who is shown to be age 22 in 1860. William Sr. is not shown on the census and Harriet is listed as head of household. They were living in the Rockdale community. If you want to look it up, it will be page 593, family/household #1373 on the 1860 Randolph County, AL federal census. Also, could he have had a first or middle name that might show up different in the census? I tried to e-mail you but the message bounced back.
