I am not related to the Gandys, but saw your post and can supply a bit more information if someone is looking. familysearch.org has the death certificate for Joseph Oliver Gandy. It has is age as roughly 55 years old with no date of birth and birthplace Arkansas. He died February 26, 1921 in Dallas. He was a switchman for a train and was run over by a train. It does say he is married. The informant was L.C.Porter, an employee of the T & P Railway in Dallas.
I am looking for Oliver Gandy of Comanche, Texas who died in 1993 and was a sixth grade student in Newburg (Comanche Co) Texas in the classroom of my grandfather Arla Hallford.
