Bristol, VA – Nancy Gammon, 70, died on Wednesday,
December 31, 2008, in Wellmont Hospice House.

Nancy was born to the late Dr. William and Alys Lavinder
Gammon of Bristol, VA, on July 25, 1938. She was a
graduate of Gulf Park Junior College, attended the
University of North Carolina, received her bachelor's
degree from King College and obtained her master's degree
from East Tennessee State University.

In addition to her family and friends, Nancy's passions
included Bristol Virginia Senior Show Choir, golf, church,
exercise and travel. She had a free spirit, coupled with a
caring and generous heart. She was a lifelong member of
State Street United Methodist church and attended West
Hills Christian Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Jane Shore of Bristo,l TN,
and Rose Garrett and her husband John of Newport News, VA;
and nieces and nephews, John Shore of Knoxville, TN, Kelly
Curtiss, her husband John and their children, Garrett,
Courtney and Ryan, of Chagrin Falls, OH, Katie Boehly, her
husband Todd and their children, Nick, Zack and Clay, of
Darien, CT, and Jay Garrett of New York, NY.

In addition to her parents, Nancy mourned the loss of her
niece, Alys Shore Powell.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:15 a.m.,
Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home,
with the memorial service to follow at 11:30 in the
chapel. Dr. Gary Knapp and the Rev. Mike Jackson will
officiate. Private burial will follow in Shelby Hills
Cemetery.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the doctors
and staff of both Bristol Regional Medical Center and
Wellmont Hospice House for their professional and attentive
care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to
West Hills Christian Church, 116 Elm St., Bristol, TN
37620; or the Bristol Virginia Senior Show Choir, c/o City
Treasurer, 300 Lee St., Bristol, VA 24201.

Miss Gammon and her family are in the care of Oakley-Cook
Funeral Home.

37620; or the Bristol Virginia Senior Show Choir, 300 Lee
St., Bristol, VA 24201.
