I am trying to find out how the GAMMELL line fits into my WAY family. I have David BATTON WAY b. 1821 New Castle, DE m. Mary L. BROOKS 1855 New Castle, DE.
I have not been able to find David's parents, but he named his first born son, David GAMMELL WAY....so I would think that the GAMMELL family was important to them.
Other surnames given to the children for middle names were: STANTON, LEWIS and BROOKS.
