CARNES,GAMBREL,KNOX,KENTUCKY,STINKING CR
Still looking for info on Carnes and Gambrel. Have some dates but mosty names. Tip Carnes and Lula Carnes (Gambrel) are my great grandparents they were married about 1892 in Knox co. Tips parents were James and Mary (Woolum).James parents were Abner and Margarett Peggy (Jackson). Tip had a brother named Nelson i think his wifes name was Cosby Causley Rice. He also had a sister named Mary, she married a Frank Gambrel who just happens to be TipS wife Lulas brother. Tip and Lula had 10 living children, my grandmother who was married to one of the boys thinks there were possible more but didnt live through infancy. their children were Jim Gritter possible named James, Ada, Orange, Lemon, Ommie or spelled Omy, Aaron, Oscar and Archie (twins) Lizzie and Costello. I have more stories and marriages but need help with dates. As far as my grandmother can recall all the children were born at home up stinking creek on roaring fork. DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO ANYONE? Will respond to all inquries.
