Elizabeth, I'm William Gammage. My line is from William Gammage who married Charity Saxton. I believe you might be in contact with Miranda in Canada, from AW Gamage's line. I and Ian Gammage in Australia are also constantly in contact with each other on finds, etc. We have been trying to locate a link back to England/Wales for either William, Thomas or Solomon Gammage. They are as tradition has it brothers. Elizabeth Jenkins published the book "William, Thomas & Solomon Gammage and Their Descendants" in 1994. This same group, of which I am now a part of holds a reunion every year in June mainly in Texas now. Looking for the link back has been exciting, as well as educational for a lot of us. I am hoping based on your posting, if you could share your information with us. I'm wondering if your grandmother's notes might hold the link to what we have been looking for, or some clue we could research on.
