I am looking for the parents of Mary M. Davis, wfe of Nathaniel Gamage. She died l9 March l838, age 66. In searching Glaucester Vital Records I have found two possible Marys, one born in 1771 and one in l773. I think the first of these is the most likely. She would be the daughter of Alford Davis and Abigail Stanwood.
My great aunt told me years ago that Mary was a half-sister in a family of Norwoods.
Another relative said the Davis family were Tories. Alford seems to drop out of the records just before the Revolutionary War. Does anyone have any further information?
