Dear Ms. Brock. Bishop Alfred Galyon was the son of Benjamin Harrison and Lizzie Galyon of Sevier Co., TN. Bishop was born ca. 1819 according to the 1920 census. Benj. was the son of Wm. Thomas and Della Cunningham Gayon also of Sevier Co. and Benj. was born ca. 1885 in Sevier Co. Benj. had a twin brother named John P. Morton Galyon. Wm. Thomas was in turn the son of Allen Anderson and Lucinda Vineyard Galyon also of Sevier Co., and Wm. Thomas (Big Tom) was born ca. 1859. Allen Anderson was the son of Gilbert and Elender Thomas Galyon of Sevier Co. and Allen was born ca. 1823 prob. in Sevier Co. Gilbert was born in NC ca. 1799 and I am really pretty certain that he was the son of an Amos Gallion of Surry Co., NC. By the way, Amos moved to TN ca. 1810 and settled in Sevier Co. very close to Gilbert sometime around 1824-26. Amos was one of 8 sons to Jacob and Eliz. Arnold Gallion of Surry-Wilkes Co., NC and Amos was born around 1775. Jacob and Eliz. were married ca. 1753 in Harford Co., MD. Jacob was born ca. 1733 to Thomas and Mary Young Gallion who were married in Harford Co., MD ca. 1731. Thomas was born in 1709 to John and Mary Wright Gallion of Harford Co. who were married ca. 1700. John was most probably a son to the original Gallion immigrant to America, one Joseph Gallion. Joseph came to America from London, England in 1664 to be a tobacco planter in Maryland. Joseph was a son to William and Joan Palmer Gallion of London, England who married ca. 1615 in Chigwell, Essex. And there the trail ends for now.
