Hello Lou...I can't recall if we have e-mailed each other before. I can send you a pdf file on Lee M. (possibly Marion)Gallion if you like. I too have hit the "brick wall" on Lee M. He was sort of unique amongst the Roane Co. Gallons. For one thing, he joined the Confederates. Of course, he may have been drafted and/or coereced into joining in which case we can forgive him. But all the other Roane Co. Gallions (except for Benjamin who quickly deserted) joined up with the Feds.
Lee M. does not fit well into the lineages of the John Gallion sr. and jr. families who constitute the majority of Roane Co. Gallions. However, there is another lineage in which he could fit (fit is based on the 1820-30-40 censi from NC and TN). That lineage is the Burke Co., NC lineage of the Thomas Gallion found in the 1790 Burke Co., NC census. We know that some of the Burke Co. people moved to Knox and Sevier Co. ca. 1830-40. And we know who some of them are in the 1850 TN census (Thomas of Knox Co. and James Madison of Roane Co.). So the Burke Co. Gallions are my "best bet" for Lee M. BTW-I don't know that Lee M.'s middle name was Marion even though one of his sons was Lee Marion. And, yes, one of the Roane Co. descendants of John Gallion was Albert Marion Gallion. However, Marion was not an uncommon name in those days.
George T. Gallion
