William H. Gallion was born in Monroe Co., IN ca. 1833 to Thomas and Sarah ? Gallion. Thomas and Sarah were in the 1830 Sevier Co., TN census. Thomas was "most probably" a son to Amos Gallion and his unknown first wife. Amos was born ca. 1780 to Jacob and Eliz. Arnold Gallion in the Surry-Wilkes Co., NC area. Jacob and Eliz. were married ca. 1753 in Harford Co., MD. Jacob was born ca. 17333 to Thomas and Mary Young Gallion who themselves were married in Harford Co. ca. 1731. Thomas was born ca. 1707 to John and Mary Wright? Gallion. John was born ca. 1670 to Joseph Gallion who was the original Gallion immigrant to America coming to MD in 1664 to be a tobacco planter. Joseph was in turn born in 1633 to William and Joan Palmer Gallion of London, England who themselves were married in Chigwell, Essex, ca. 1615. And there the trail ends for now.
