Elijah's lineage is a mystery. We believe he had sons John C., James Hawkins, William A., and an unknown. John C. was born ca. 1805 and married Sarah Rhoads possibly in Sullivan co., Ind. James Hawkins married ella Jane Wray in La. and died in Natchitoches Co., La. between 1850-60. William A. married catherine Louise Wray and died in Natchitoches Co., LA. 1840-50. The unknown son was born 1800-1810 and may have died between 1820-30. Elijah was in the KY records beginning in 1793 I think. Elijah was in the 1810 Gallatin Co., KY census, the 1820 Floyd Co., KY census, and the 1830 Sullivan Co., Ind. census. If Elijah was really born in KY ca. 1766 then he did not descend from any of the Harford Co., MD Gallions of the 1776 census. There is an isolated 1703 record of a Henry Gallion on a Fincastle Co., VA land transaction record. This Henry was quite far away from Harford Co. in 1703. Fincastle Co., VA is no more but it was once the name for the southeastern part of present day VA and almost all of central and eastern present day Kentucky. It's possible that Elijah is a descendant of this Henry. Now who Henry was is anybody's guess but it is very probable that he was a son to Joseph Gallion of Harford Co. ca. 1664-1699. But this is a real guess with no source documentation to back it up.
