Thomas Sexton was in Russell Co., Va., he began after borrowing money a bee-hive / honey raising profession.. ..War of 1812 erupted, he slipped of to war, came home and a known thief had stolen his beehives...after two attempts to peacefully obtain them didn't work...Thomas Sexton shot and killed the thief. Afraid more of kinfolks than any authority, Thomas fled VA by joining a wagon train west to then Floyd Co., KY. By the time he got to KY ...he became known then by the name...THOMAS GALLION. He married Ruth Watson under the Gallion name, had children, legally changed his name out of greed...wanted the courts to know his true identiy so he could get land grants for his past service in War of 1812...
