Just a quick note... I'm related! :-) Heres a little of my tree: John A. and Melinda Wade Gallion were married in Sevier Co. ca. 1870s and were in the 1880 Sevier Co. census. John's parents were Thomas Young and Martha Jane McMillen who were married on 5-20-1847 in Knox Co., TN. John A. was their oldest son. John's brothers were Joseph Strong Gallion, Thomas William Gallion, and Ernest McMillan Gallion. Thomas and Ernest became Doctors in Jefferson Co., TN. Joseph became a farmer. Thomas Y. was born in Buncombe Co., NC ca. 1825 to Thomas and Alvira Deal who were married ca. 1810 in Burke Co., NC. Thomas and Alvira had quite a few children and they migrated from NC to Sevier Co., TN between 1820 and 1830. We can be fairly certain that Thomas (Thomas Y.'s father) was born in Burke Co., NC ca. 1787 to another Thomas Gallion who was the Thomas Gallion of the 1790 Burke Co., NC Federal census. Thomas and Mary Young Gallion who were married ca. 1731 in Harford Co., MD... We know that Jacob Gallion was another son to Thomas and Mary Young Gallion and that said Jacob was in Surry Co., NC by 1775 and in the 1790 Surry Co., NC Federal census. The Harford Co., MD Thomas Gallion was in turn born in Harford Co., ca. 1707 to a John and Mary (possibly nee Wright) Gallion. Said John was probably born ca. 1670 to the original Gallion immigrant to America, one Joseph Gallion. Joseph came to America in 1664 from London, England where he was born ca. 1633 as the youngest son of Wm. and Joan Palmer Gallion who themselves were married ca. 1615 in Chigwell, Essex. Said Wm. was in turn born ca. 1592 in London to unknown parents. Interesting information you have.... if you'd like to email, katt@diamondcs.net Patti Gallion K.
