Hello Dinah...I am not at home right now so I have not access to my records. But the Gallion State Forest in VA. was named after the man who donated the land to the state ca. 1930 or so if I recall. I can't remember his first name but he was a VA., a member of the 1st graduating class of Virginia Polytechnic Institute (1871 or 1881 I think), and a lifelong batchelor and Civil Servant. When I get home I will confirm this and get the name.

There are at least two other Gallion place names in America. One is in Alabama and the other in Harford Co., MD. Both are named after local personages.
