My father is John Henry Gallion of Doniphan, Missouri. He had an aunt whose name was Lillian M. Gallion who married Lonnie Middleton. She was the daughter of John A.Gallion and Melinda Jane Wade. Thomas and Melinda were married on April 16, 1879. They had the following children: William Ernest Gallion who married Minnie Lee King; John Gallion; Ruffie Nickalaus Gallion who married Minnie Lee King; Lillian; and Thomas Jefferson Gallion who married Mary Elizabeth Blackley. Thomas Jefferson was my grandfather. He and Mary were married in Pocahontas, Arkansas, but they lived in the Naylor area in Missouri. My father has talked about an Aunt Lillie who lived in Arkansas. This may be your grandmother. My grandparents have been dead since the early 60's.

The name "Gallion" has several spellings, but they are probably all derived from a French root and are pronounced "Gay Yon" in France; however, I grew up saying "Gal yon."
