Your comment about John Gallimore in Newcastle under Lyme is interesting as there are currently many Gallimores living in this area. I live in Stafford (just south of Newcastle u Lyme). My family has been traced through several generations of farmers living in NE Staffordshire and the Derbyshire border. Incidentally John seems to have been a very popular christian name for the Gallimores in the 19th and 18th centuries.
