I was delighted to see the name "Gallimore" on the list as there are not many of us out there. My grandfather, Harry Percy Gallimore emmigrated to Canada in the early 1900s and settled in near Edmonton, Alberta. His great-grandfather was John Gallimore, born about 1799 and lived in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire England.

You are right about the name coming from Northern England but I suspect that it was originally Irish (not Scottish).

I would be please to try to find a connection somewhere in there.
