Dear Evelyn, Thank you so much for your helpful reply. Maybe I can find a further record of the short-lived emigration attempt that you mention. Are you suggesting that the Gallemore name is indeed Scots-Irish? I cannot find the source of the name and as you say, it is an uncommon one. Galloway is much more common. I need to find some wills for the three Gallemores listed as Rev War patriots, so can begin to try to trace their descendants; was not successful in this in the DAR Library a couple of years ago. Maybe I was looking in the wrong counties (I think I searched Rowan pretty throughly). I'm going to go back to my files and try to retrace my steps. Thanks again. -- Martha
