Have you tried looking in the book, "Origins of New Mexico Families," by Fray Angelico Chavez? It should be in your local library, and was published in 1954. It deals with New Mexico families of the sixteenth through the early twentieth century. I was browsing through the addenda and managed to locate my Great-Grandmother on my dad' maternal side. It doesn't have a lot of Gallego(s) information but it may be enough to break any deadlocks you have. Hope this helps. BTW my Gallegos background is from Villanueva and Las Vegas. Oh! I understand the postmaster in Villanueva has a lot of Gallegos data - unkown for sure as he would not answer my queries (letter and phone calls).
