Pedro Gallegos -- El Tequesquite, NM

Looking for info re: Pedro Gallegos, one of the son's of my great grandmother Luisita Gallegos (maiden name Aragon). Luisita Gallegos (Aragon) was married to Desiderio Gallegos. Their son, Pedro Gallegos, supposedly disappeared after a gunfight/shootout/fire at a gambling hall at El Tequesquite, NM (now Albert, NM) in the 1870's or 1880's. Seven men lay dead after the shootout, but Pedro Gallegos and his winnings (money) were never found. The Sherrif searched for him for weeks, but his horse and belongs were gone, along with him. Family rumors have it that he was either buried, horse and all, by thieves who murdered him for his money during the gunfight. Others claim he was seen years later in Mexico and also in Denver. One story says that he changed his last name to an anglo name and had a ranch near Colorado Springs years later. Does anyone know the real story? Any leads or info would be appreciated. Thanks!
