I am looking for history of Gallant in Alabama in the 1800 - my grandfather's name was Ezekial Columbus Gallant married to Laura Barrett of Aliceville, AL. Her father was Dr.Jim Barrett. Gallant first settled in the Carolinas, then moved to Alabama and one of the brothers moved on to Texas. I would like to know if they were French, English or German?
