Hi Isabelle, Thank you for your suggestions. I have used familysearch.com but if memory serves me correctly, the Gallant's were in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Using Hugh Wallis' search tool, there were Gallant's scattered around in Suffolk - but coverage wasn't that extensive. I am waiting for a friend who is going to visit the London Metropolitan Archives to copy the marriage entry for me - I'm a bit loathe to pay the search fee as I do know which church and year but not the month and have been quoted over £20 for the information using the archives own researchers - and also I think Ancestry are putting a lot of London parish information on their website this year which may also break down this brick wall :-) I have sourced 'Gallant' newspaper entries in Suffolk using my libraries subscription to the British Newspaper Collection - I have yet to type it up/collate it but I'm hoping it will be of use at some point! My Seakins ancestors have also been spelled Siggins/Seggins etc in parish records! My gt gt grandfather's memorial card he is a 'Sekins'. There are many variants for this Flemish surname. Thanks again Isabelle Sharon Notify Administrator about this message?
